The perception of the female body by the greater society has changed since the beginning of time. Different countries define what is "beautiful" and socially acceptable of what a women is suppose to look like. In American society, the women's body is no stranger to being objectified and placed on a pedestal. The American media takes women's body image and self worth to a whole other level. The perfect body shape is viewed in print ads, on television, and upheld by our favorite music artisit. This constant bombardment makes it extremely hard from one not fall victim to societies' not so subtle body image standards.
